Submitting a notice
If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright you own or control, send a written notice by email to the address in the legal center. Include the items below so the claim can be assessed and acted on.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
- The exact URL and description of the material in question
- Your name and email address as the complaining party
- A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner
- Your physical or electronic signature
What happens next
Complete notices are reviewed promptly. Material that appears to infringe is removed or disabled while the claim is assessed, and we record the notice for our own compliance history.
Counter-notices
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice containing identification of the removed material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury of your good faith belief, your contact details, your consent to jurisdiction, and your signature.
Repeat infringement and misuse
We may decline to act on notices that are incomplete or abusive, and knowingly false claims of infringement carry liability for the party making them.
Our own material
Text, photography, illustrations and data compilations on this site are our own or are licensed. If you would like to reuse something, ask first - permission is often given for non-commercial use with attribution.
