Third Ward is Uptown's culture-and-sport quadrant: Bank of America Stadium at its southwestern edge, Truist Field at its northern end, and the Mint Museum Uptown, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Harvey B. Gantt Center clustered on the Levine Center for the Arts block. Romare Bearden Park is the open space that ties them together.

On a Knights home date the park and the ballpark function as one venue, with the lawn absorbing arrival crowds before first pitch.

The park carries festivals, concerts and seasonal programming, and its calendar interacts with the stadium and ballpark schedules. On a day with an event in the park and a game next door, plan on prepaid parking or the Blue Line.
