Named for the Charlotte-born artist, Bearden Park is the most photographed green space in Uptown: terraced lawns, water features and a skyline backdrop that frames the towers behind Truist Field.
It is also the busiest on event nights, sitting between the ballpark and the museum block.

First Ward Park anchors the redevelopment around UNC Charlotte Center City and the 7th Street Public Market, with open lawn, a splash-friendly water feature and the most family traffic of any Uptown park.
It is the clearest example of a park being built first and a neighborhood forming around it.

Fourth Ward Park is a neighborhood park in the truest sense — mature trees, a gazebo, dogs and strollers rather than events. Nearby Settlers Cemetery holds Charlotte's earliest burials and functions as a quiet, shaded block in the middle of the city.
Together they are the reason Fourth Ward reads as residential.

Marshall Park on the Second Ward side has long been the loop's largest open lawn, and its future is tied to the Brooklyn Village redevelopment plans for the surrounding blocks.

The Little Sugar Creek Greenway runs just outside the eastern rim of the loop and links Uptown toward Midtown and Freedom Park, making a car-free long run or ride possible from most Uptown addresses.
